Sophie Labossière

Sophie Labossière is a psychoeducator and holds a PhD in psychoeducation from the Université de Sherbrooke. She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Foundations and Practices (Université Laval). Her research focuses on the psychosocial adaptation of young people in sports and school settings. More specifically, she seeks to
1) describe the psychosocial adaptation of young people who participate in organised sports,
2) understand what may predispose this population to psychosocial adjustment difficulties and violence in sports contexts, and
3) jointly prevent these two phenomena so that sports remain conducive to young people’s psychosocial well-being.
She uses several methods to achieve this, including longitudinal, quantitative and mixed designs, and programme evaluation.
