Jacinthe Dion
Jacinthe Dion is a Full Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University du Québec à Trois-Rivières. She holds the Canada Research Chair Level 1 in Sexual Violence among Vulnerable Youth, nicknamed Aquarelle, and co-holds the VISAJ Research Chair in Youth Life and Health. She is also a member of several research groups, including CRIPCAS, ÉVISSA, and CEIDEF. Her experience as a clinical psychologist working with children and adolescents has strongly influenced her desire to focus on the strengths and coping abilities of young people and their families. Her work focuses on the risk and protective factors associated with adaptation among victims of interpersonal violence (sexual violence, violence in sports, child abuse) and on the effectiveness of prevention programmes. For example, one of her recent projects aims to examine the development of young athletes, particularly those participating in the Jeux du Québec. In recent years, she has developed collaborative approaches involving various partners and communities in the research process, recognising the unique strengths that each brings to the projects undertaken.
