This study will document the risk and protective factors, as well as the consequences of athlete abuse (AA). This project will also:
1) document the effects of sport participation in 2,000 adolescent boys and girls
2) investigate the role of sport participation in the relationship between negative life experiences and adolescent adjustment
3) determine, in a subsample of athletes, how a supportive sport environment can be a protective factor.
