Study on Integrity in Coaching (ÉTIC) – Phase 2

This project constitutes the first step in a partnership with the Quebec Ministry of Education aimed at developing, implementing, and evaluating a training program for Quebec coaches designed to prevent violence against athletes. The specific objectives of this second phase are to:

1) Develop the content of an evidence-based training program (based on Phase 1 of the ÉTIC project and scientific literature) aimed at:

  • Improving knowledge about violence in sports and its manifestations;
  • Demystifying and deconstructing certain prejudices surrounding violence against athletes: physical contact, consent, boundaries in the coach-athlete relationship, etc. ;
  • Deconstruct beliefs regarding psychological violence;
  • Promote behavioral change by equipping coaches

2) Implement a pilot project

3) Evaluate the implementation of the pilot project among:

  • Those implementing the training;
  • Those receiving the training.
